British Standards

With over 100 years of experience across many industries, British Standards Institution (BSi) has led the way for certification, testing, standards development and business training.

For the Fenestration industry, BSi has been instrumental in introducing the above in familiar ways.

Kitemark

The Kitemark is unique to BSi and awarded to fabricators or sealed unit manufacturers against annual testing and auditing, both against existing standards such as BS7412, BS4873, BS644, BS6510 and BS7950.
SCCS will implement the full requirements of the appropriate standard; liaise with British Standards institution on your behalf for quotations, testing and auditing.  In addition, SCCS will train your employees to maximise the benefits from the Quality System put into practice by SCCS.

Testing

Either against existing or proposed standards, BSi will offer their testing rigs against a range of fenestration products, including windows, doors and sealed units.
Used by System companies to independently test their products against industry and or European standards prior to launch and by manufactures to comply with growing industry standards and expectations.

British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC) – Window Energy Ratings.

BSi are one of a few organisations to be appointed an agent by the BFRC.  BSi will audit the quality system against the requirements of the BFRC.  In addition, BSi will analyse the simulated reports from registered simulators and report their findings to the BFRC.
SCCS will liaise with BSi and registered simulators on your behalf and arrange for quotations and reports etc.
